Summer Sole Spa Rx

My blooming rosemary bush

It’s that time of year again when the skin on my heels starts to snap, crackle & peel.  The bare feet of summer get more exposed to the elements, which can make them a little tough and callused.  That’s why it’s important to be kind to your soles.  Here’s my favorite summer spa treatment for my “flip-flop footsies” …

Mediterranean Foot Scrub

The sea salt & lemon peel exfoliate, the rosemary soothes & deodorizes, and the olive oil softens & rehydrates.

¼ cup sea salt

¼ cup olive oil

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 teaspoon fresh grated lemon peel

1.  Mix all ingredients together in a bowl; set aside.

2.  Soak feet in warm water for 10 minutes to soften skin.

3.  Using fingertips or loofah sponge, rub mixture onto feet, especially on the areas with toughened skin.  If desired, you can wrap your feet in plastic and then cover with a towel for 10-15 minutes.

4.  Rinse feet with warm water and pat dry with towel.

Wishing you happy feet!
